Children often suffer from tonsillitis which can be recurring throughout the year and should be treated with antibiotics. If these infections occur 3 or 4 times a year it is possible that this is a chronic infection that may have repercussions on the entire body, therefore complete removal of the tonsils is recommended. The operation is performed under general anaesthesia with a 2 or 3 day stay in the clinic. Special care should be taken and supervision strictly enforced in the two weeks following this operation. You shall be informed about all this in detail prior to the operation.
